Thai Vietjet has signed a multi-year agreement with Res2, a departure control system provider and leader in airport automation based in the Netherlands, and travel technology company Travelport. (10/10/23)
The LCC will use iPort DCS (Departure Control System) to manage passenger handling, baggage and boarding and improve the overall customer experience with iPort-enabled automation.
“We are very excited about this strategic partnership with Travelport and Res2,” said Woranate Laprabang, CEO of Thai Vietjet. “Our airline’s growth plan requires a strong partner as we recognize the vital role iPort DCS will play in modernizing our airport operations. “We are confident that our collaboration with Res2 and Travelport LP will allow us to enhance our customers’ travel experience.”

iPort DCS’s innovative end-to-end service offering is designed to increase efficiency in the check-in and boarding process, provide large-scale self-service capabilities, improve immigration security and compliance, reduce wait times and improve the accuracy of information management.
By automating many of the routine tasks associated with check-in and boarding, the system can allow airlines to operate more efficiently and reduce costs.
Most importantly, by providing real-time information to airline staff, the system improves communication and provides a better overall customer experience.
Additionally, ancillary sales, weight and balance, and biometric self-boarding are within the scope of iPort.
Hans van Engelen, CEO of Res2, said: “We are delighted to welcome Thai Vietjet to the iPort DCS community of over 110 airlines and ground handlers worldwide. “We look forward to building a sustainable and beneficial partnership with Thai Vietjet and being a strong partner for their accelerated growth.”
