SWISS has announced plans to offer non-stop flights to the South Korean capital for the first time.

The flag carrier will launch a three-times-weekly service from Zurich on May 7, operated by a 340 aircraft.

Flights will depart Zurich at 1:40 p.m. on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrive at Seoul Incheon International Airport at 8:25 a.m. the next day. The return leg will depart Seoul at 09:55 on Wednesday, Saturday and Monday and land back in Zurich at 16:50.

Lufthansa Group airline Lufthansa already operates flights to Seoul from Frankfurt and Munich.

SWISS will also launch long-haul service to Washington DC on March 28, 2024, followed by flights to Toronto starting May 10.

Heike Birlenbach, commercial director of SWISS, commented on the news:

“We are delighted to continue growing our network. In addition to our new long-haul destinations of Washington, DC and Toronto, which we have already announced, we will add the extremely attractive destination of Seoul to our Asian network in summer 2024.

“The capital of South Korea has a lot to offer both leisure and business travelers. And our new Seoul service will help us even better meet our customers' needs for direct services to and from key cities around the world.”
