Singapore Airlines Heathrow T2 lounge to close for renovations on February 8 – Business Traveler

Singapore Airlines has announced plans to renovate its SilverKris lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2.

The £3.5 million project will include an increase in seating space by 16 per cent, with the lounge adopting elements of The airline's newly renovated facility at Terminal 3 at Singapore Changi Airport..

SIA's Heathrow T2 lounge originally opened in 2015 when the carrier moved to the then new terminal, and business traveler We last reviewed the first-class facilities in 2018.

To allow the works to take place, the venue will close on February 8, with a reopening planned for “later in the summer”.

During the closure, Singapore Airlines first and business class customers, as well as PPS Club, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members traveling on Singapore Airlines flights, will be invited to use United's United Club T2 lounge. Airlines, located in front of gate B46.

The airline also said that “eligible customers can also make use of the other Star Alliance lounges located at Heathrow Airport.”

Commenting on the news, Mohamed Rafi Mar, CEO of Singapore Airlines for the UK and Ireland, said:

“Having operated continuously from the UK capital for more than 50 years, London is an important premium market for Singapore Airlines.

“The refurbishment of the SilverKris Lounge at London Heathrow demonstrates our commitment to London and will provide an enhanced experience for our customers once it reopens.”

In December, Singapore Airlines announced plans to launch flights from Gatwick Airport, with a five-times-weekly service starting in June.
