Abu Dhabi-based hotel management company Rotana has confirmed extensive expansion plans for Saudi Arabia.

At the recently concluded Saudi Tourism Forum (STF), Rotana announced that it will open eight new properties in the kingdom over the next four years.

These will include four Edge by Rotana properties, one Rayhaan by Rotana in Riyadh, one Dar Rayhaan by Rotana in Al Khobar, one Al Manakha Rotana in Medina and one Edge by Rotana in Al Baha.

These openings will bring the total number of keys within the kingdom to 4,400 across 16 properties.

“With ambitious plans and developments in hand, Rotana’s continued commitment shows our commitment to shaping the future of tourism in the vibrant Saudi Arabia market,” said Eddy Tannous, Rotana Chief Operating Officer.

Rotana currently operates 74 hotels in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Türkiye, serving more than six million guests annually.

Its portfolio currently spans 19,237 keys and six brands, including 10,159 keys across 36 hotels in the UAE and 2,200 keys across eight hotels in Saudi Arabia.

Across the GCC region, Rotana's regional portfolio for 2024 includes Rotana's Onyx Arjaan in Manama, Rotana's Bomonti Arjaan in Istanbul, Rotana's Riviera Rayhaan in Doha and Luxor Rotana Resort in Luxor.

Additionally, Rotana is expected to make its debut in the Algerian market with the launch of Azure Rotana Resort and Spa in the port city of Oran, while the opening of Bloom Arjaan by Rotana on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island is planned for this year. .

Rotana will bring the Centro brand to the United Kingdom

Beyond the GCC region, Rotana will expand significantly in the UK. Last year it confirmed it would open its first properties in the UK, developing up to 1,500 keys under the Centro brand in greater London. It includes a newly built 31-apartment Kingston Center at the northern end of Coombe Road due to open in 2024.

Globally, Rotana plans to reach 28,000 keys in 120 hotels in operation by 2030.
