Qatar Airways and gategroup have announced a new catering partnership.
The business management agreement aims to collaborate on passenger dining experiences, sourcing and procurement, healthy eating and sustainability.
The agreement covers in-flight meals as well as ground dining services at the airline's lounges at Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Gategroup's Zurich-based culinary team will be based in Doha and will assist in the development of a dedicated culinary studio for Qatar Airways, which will focus on co-creation and efficient menu design.
Qatar Airways said the new culinary creations will focus on “high-quality ingredients, health and nutrition, incorporating local products with a view to sustainable sourcing, authenticity and supporting local businesses.”
The agreement also covers production efficiency and systematic control of food quality, taste and appearance.
