One Air to expand its fleet with a third Boeing 747-400 freighter
Dark/Light Mode (07/25/24) One Air, a British cargo airline, carried more than 17,000 tonnes of cargo and connected 28 global airports in its first year of operations, and is now preparing to embark on the next phase of its fleet expansion with a third Boeing 747-400F expected to enter service by the end of August.
The airline operated its inaugural flight on July 24, 2023, with a payload of 100 tonnes from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport (TNA) in eastern China to London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Since then, One Air has been providing regular weekly charter flights linking Asia and Europe, as well as ad hoc global charter services.

Key milestones in One Air’s first year of operations included the addition of a second B747-400F to its fleet in November and the carrier’s move from its LHR base to East Midlands Airport (EMA), where it can benefit from easier slot availability and fewer restrictions on night flights.
“A new airline’s first year of operations can be a journey of discovery. I am pleased to say that at One Air, our first 12 months have seen steady growth as we lay the foundations for our long-term ambitions,” said Chris Hope, Chief Operating Officer, One Air. “We are extremely grateful to our global sales agency partner, Air One Aviation, for driving demand, and to the carriers, charter brokers and logistics providers for their confidence in us as a new airline. The arrival of our third aircraft in August will expand our offering and by the end of 2025, we expect to have doubled our fleet based on promising growth opportunities.”
One Air started with a team of six people and now employs more than 115 industry professionals, including pilots who come from other global airlines.
