Marriott to open first JW property in Greece – Business Traveler

Marriott International has announced plans to open the first Greek property under its JW Marriott brand.

JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa is expected to open in 2025 and will be situated along Marathi Beach on the outskirts of the city of Chania.

Marathi Beach is a 15-minute drive from Chania International Airport and about two hours from the larger Heraklion International Airport.

Features will include 160 rooms, suites and villas, five food and beverage options including a traditional Cretan restaurant and a beach restaurant, multiple pools, a gym, spa and beach club.

In 2022, IHG Hotels and Resorts announced plans to open an intercontinental property overlooking Crete's Mirabello Bay. The hotel was scheduled to open in 2023, but so far it is not accepting reservations.
