Mandarin Oriental to open its first property in Rome – Business Traveler

Mandarin Oriental has announced plans for its first hotel in the Italian capital.

The 108-room Mandarin Oriental, Rome will be located in ten 19th-century villas between Via Piemonte and Via Sallustiana, and within the Sallustio Gardens.

There will be six restaurants and bars including outdoor dining, an independent dining concept in one of the villas and the Mandarin Bar on the rooftop.

Other facilities will include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gardens, six treatment rooms, thermal rooms and a sun terrace.

The property is scheduled to open in 2026 and will join the Mandarin Oriental, Milan – which opened in 2015 – and Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como, which was a rebranding of the previous CastaDiva Resort and Spa. Cortina and Cervo properties are also being developed.

Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental's long-awaited Mayfair property in London now has an opening date for next month, with the hotel taking bookings from June 3.

The property was first announced in 2017.and will feature 50 rooms and suites, as well as 78 private residences, a 25-meter pool and a restaurant by award-winning chef Akira Back.
