Malaysia Airlines will deploy its flagship Airbus A350-900 aircraft on its two daily non-stop services between Kuala Lumpur and Doha from April 1, 2024.
Oneworld airline says the move is part of its ongoing commitment to improving its customer experience and meeting growing demand on the route.
Since November 2023, the airline has deployed the Airbus A350 aircraft on one of its daily services, complemented by its Airbus A330-300 on the second daily flight.
Malaysia Airlines will deploy its newly acquired Airbus A350 on the second daily service, which has 300 seats, including 40 in business class, 32 in economy class (with greater space and width between seats) and 228 in economy class.
Malaysia Airlines purchased this specific A350-900 last year and the aircraft previously flew for SAS Scandinavian Airlines. The previous interiors have been largely retained and especially the 1-2-1 business class cabin represents a significant improvement over the business class product of Malaysia Airlines' six other A350s, which alternate 1-2. 2-2, 1-2- 1 design.
The comfort economy section is in a 2-4-2 configuration, while the regular economy is configured 3-3-3.
Malaysia Airlines codeshares with oneworld partner Qatar Airways on both daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Doha, as well as all flights operated by Qatar Airways from the Malaysian capital.
“The strategic decision to deploy our A350s on both daily services reflects our commitment to continually improve the passenger experience, aligning us with one of our customers' key priorities: ensuring optimal cabin comfort. With the route demonstrating strong performance, we are confident in both the success of the route and our role in facilitating connectivity to Doha and beyond with our unparalleled Malaysian hospitality,” said Malaysia Aviation Group CEO Izham Ismail.
