Lufthansa prepares for more strikes in Frankfurt and Munich this week – Business Traveler

Lufthansa services will face further disruption this week, with strikes at Frankfurt and Munich airports.

The UFO union has asked cabin crew to leave tomorrow (Tuesday, March 12) at Frankfurt Airport and Wednesday, March 13 at Munich Airport.

This page on the Lufthansa website states that “As a result, the airline will have to adjust its flight schedule on both days,” without providing further details.

“New reservations are currently being made for guests whose flights are affected by the UFO attack. This process is of the highest priority for us and is still ongoing. Therefore, we ask for your patience.”

The page also points out the national strike that will take place tomorrow by the GDL train drivers' union, which will lead to the “total cancellation of services throughout Germany.”

Last month, Lufthansa flights were severely affected by 35-hour notice strike called by the Verdi union and which affects ground staff employed by Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cargo.

The latest industrial strike occurs as a parent company. Lufthansa Group recently reported an operating profit of €2.7 billion by 2023 – the third best financial result in the history of the group (behind 2017 and 2018).
