Jurassic Park Irl? Robot dinosaurs will invade the Botanical Garden of the South Coast

Dinosaurs come this holiday season. The Botanical Garden of the South Coast in the Green Palos Peninsula will be the host of “dinosaurs worldwide”, bringing 13 realistic animatronic figures to the green space.

With November 1 to January 31, the exhibition will have a wide range of reptiles, ranging from the 6 -foot long australovenor to a Tyrannosaurus Rex almost 30 feet long. Guests can see dinosaurs on two paths to walk. One is a short loop designed mainly for young children, which will have a little more than half of the dinosaurs, while the other is a complete excursion around the garden.

All dinosaurs will move, some will roar and none will bite.

The Botanical Garden on the South Coast receives 13 animatronic dinosaurs this winter, including a Neverer.

On weekends, South Coast will execute a separate passenger tram called the “Pangea Express” that will include a tour of the exhibition with dinosaurs and gardens data. The objective, in part, is to highlight the so -called “living fossils” of the botanical gardens of the southern coast.

“Specifically, we have a dry dawn that we are going to talk about a bit,” says Claire Griswold, learning manager and garden commitment. “We also have a large collection of Ginkgo trees, and CiCadas de Palm Sago.” A living fossil is a term for a species that was once known only for its fossil record and then was discovered in a living way, apparently preserving the physical characteristics of long -standing ancestors.

“Dinosaurs around the world” is an exhibition of tour of the experimental creative firm Imagine Exhibitions. It was developed together with the paleontologist Gregory M. Erickson, currently a member of the Florida State University.

Griswold expects the exhibition to be a way of marrying some of the wonders and technology of a theme park with the natural astonishment of an 87 -acre botanical garden.

“Whether you learn or not something, you can still have a great experience in nature and do something out of the ordinary,” says Griswold. “And what is more fun than dinosaurs, really?”

The Los Angeles area is blessed with numerous gardens that will organize seasonal events this fall and winter. Rest Gardens in the Canada Flintridge, for example, will bring back its carving centered on Halloween, while Huntington in San Marino will organize its strange science focused on the other world for a weekend at the end of October.
