ITA Airways signs codeshare agreements with Aeroméxico and Emirates – Business Traveler

ITA Airways has been busy expanding its codeshare partnerships this week, unveiling a new deal with Aeromexico and plans to expand cooperation with Emirates.

Starting March 10, ITA Airways customers will have access to 28 destinations operated by Aeroméxico from the Mexico City International Airport, while Aeroméxico passengers will be able to connect via Rome Fiumicino to 15 destinations within Italy.

In addition to the benefits of single ticket and checked baggage, customers will also be able to earn and redeem points on flights operated by both airlines.

Meanwhile, ITA and Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to extend their existing interline agreement to a full codeshare partnership.

The plans will see Emirates customers gain access to Italian destinations including Florence, Genoa, Palermo and Trieste via Rome, while ITA Airways passengers will be able to connect to Emirates' extensive route network via Dubai.

The MoU will also look to expand reciprocal loyalty benefits through both airlines' frequent flyer programs “at a later stage.”

The two agreements bring ITA Airways' codeshare network to 36 partners since the airline's launch in 2021.
