IHG's Kimpton brand to debut in Italy – Business Traveler

IHG Hotels and Resorts plans to bring its Kimpton brand to Italy next year.

Kimpton will debut on the island of Sicily in the second half of 2025 as part of a management agreement with its partner Società Turistica Alberghiera Taorminese.

Located in the hilltop town of Taormina on the island's east coast, the boutique hotel will feature 59 rooms, “destination dining,” a breakfast room and a terrace bar offering panoramic views from Calabria to Isolabella Bay.

Leisure facilities, meanwhile, will include an outdoor Mediterranean garden, a 20-metre swimming pool and a tennis court.

The Kimpton of Sicily will be the 30th of IHG Hotels & Resortsth hotel in Italy, joining recent openings such as Six Senses Rome, InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace and Hotel Indigo Florence.

Additionally, two more Hotel Indigo properties will open in the coming years in Turin and Trieste, as well as IHG's first Vignette Collection property, Hotel Alexandra, in Rome in 2025.

IHG bought Kimpton in 2014and has gradually expanded the brand beyond its US roots, with openings including Kimpton St Honoré Paris in 2021.

The brand now has more than 75 hotels worldwide, including locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester.

In the coming years, another 54 hotels will join the Kimpton brand, and the brand hopes to surpass its 100-hotel milestone and reach 20 countries by 2025.
