Like most occupied working mothers fighting with the balance between working life and life, the three -time Grammy Award, Victoria Monét, appreciates spending time with her 4 -year -old daughter, Hazel, whom she shares with former Fitness coach, John Gaines.

On Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles give us a play per game of their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration about where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on weekends.
Known for writing successes as “Ice Cream” by Ariana Grande, “Ice Cream” by Selena Gomez and “Do It” by Chloe X Halle, in addition to “on mom” of his debut album “Jaguar II”, the book by R&B Singer, based in R&B, recently wrote something for young June
In a recent interview, Monét revealed the inspiration behind his book. (He will discuss his new book in Malik Books on Saturday and the repairs club along with the moderator Gabrielle Union on Sunday. Tickets are required).
“As a father, it is difficult to miss those fundamental moments,” he said about the separation anxiety that many children feel when their parents are working and are not available. “It is important that children know that there is a purpose behind them. I wanted to offer guarantee and transmit an important message: everything will be fine.”
Despite its demanding schedule, Monét always finds a way to spend quality time for Hazel. In 2023, Hazel, then 2 years old, became the youngest nominee in Grammy in history when she was nominated for her voice in “Hollywood” with his mother. And when Beyoncé started his “Cowboy Carter” tour at the Sofi stadium in Inglewood last month, Monét took Hazel to his first concert. His ideal Sunday in Los Angeles, which Monét calls with love “me time”, would imply playing outdoors, enjoying a visit to a family fun center, enjoying vegan sweets and reading “everywhere where they are” to each other before bedtime. Here, Monét shares a Sunday full of joy that happened with his daughter.
This interview has been slightly edited by length and clarity.

8:30 am: wake up with gratitude
On Sundays, Hazel and I woke up later than usual because we are probably awake late last night if I didn't have to work. Normally we start our day doing our journal of gratitude, where she scribbles and I write. Then we do our personal care, where we brush our hair and teeth. Then I will lower the stairs and make pancakes of characters with chocolate sparks or cereals fruity of pebbles.
After that, we can do some art. She loves drawing, and we have a good art section at home with everything from crayons to markers, scraping art, watercolors and rainbow paintings.

10 am: dance, dance, dance!
Hazel is active and enjoys doing things, but on weekends, we have instructors who come home for dance classes. Until now, she has taken dance, ballet and tap dance. She was in the gymnastics for a while. We are eager to take the ballet and fall to the center of Pointe Dance and Pilates.
He loves being outside and likes to ride a bike or visit the park. During the week, she plays football twice a week. She loves her because she is not serious yet. It's more about giving them the opportunity to have fun. They do exercises on how to kick and run at the same time. It is difficult when you think about it.
12 pm: Enjoy Fresh Pasta in Uovo
Hazel loves the pasta, so we often go to the uovo paste, which has several places in Los Angeles. His noodles to the handmade dente are perfect: they pass them at night from Italy. We would get the Pomodoro and make sure it is not too spicy. His cacio e pepe is great, but that is a blue moon thing for me because I am [mostly] Based on plants. Hazel generally gets what I get. When she was pregnant with her, I ate the hot cheetos all the time, and now she also likes them. After lunch, she would have to bring her home because she made a nap around 1 pm

2:30 pm: Joy on the wall
After his nap, we will leave the wall in Woodland Hills. It is the sky of the springboard, where you can catapult higher than you intended. There are rock climbing walls, an arcade and food. They have a basketball court full of air that is on a soft floor and there are birthday party rooms on the back. Hazel loves that place, especially the springboard. She likes to chase her, so I receive training while we are there. I will literally be sweating when we leave.

4 PM: Sample Sweet sweets in Happy Ice or Magpies
For a sweet gift, Happy Ice is a favorite. It is the muddy snow cone with the best flavor, especially during the summer when it is hot. They have locations in Northridge and Hollywood, but they also have a truck [at Smorgasburg on Sundays in downtown L.A.]. For Hazel's birthday party, we made the truck come to our house. In general, I get the Rainbow rocket, which is a mixture of all its Italian ice flavors, and Hazel gets the same thing I do. She is happy to get anything, frankly. Magpies Softserve is another of our favorites. Your gentle Vegan service is very good. Hazel likes his soft service cakes.
6 PM: Tapas style dinner in Joey
Hazel is recently borning, but if he went to dinner with me, he would love Joey in Woodland Hills, which offers a wide range menu. They mark a box for everyone. I am a tapas style girl, so I like to ask for a variety of different dishes: guacamole, tuna and crispy avocado and Korean fried cauliflower. I will ask for the Chilean lubina and Hazel's pasta.
We are homemade, so another dinner option would be to spend time at home, cook and play in the pool. We enjoy making vegetables and tofu together. The things you can eat with your hands are always fun with children. That is a reason why they like s'mores. Occasionally, we will do something fish such as grilled salmon or other fish.

8 pm: Look “Moana 2” … again
At night, we would see a movie and spill with some populast pop corn popcorn. Hazel would probably see “Moana 2” right now. We saw it in the theaters, and she goes through phases where she wants to see different things, but recently she said she wants a “Moana 2” party for her fifth birthday. I thought you would like something else by then. But then, she thinks there will be 20 moanas.

10 pm: Read “everywhere where you are” before bedtime
Before going to bed, dol often asks me to read “wherever you are” for her. He loves reading and likes to be read. I read it so many times that you can read. She recorded a segment of the audiobook with me and was excited to be heard when she recorded it in the study. Reading the book, I realized that getting lost to a father is very similar to losing a loved one. You can still feel your presence even though they are not close. Love unites people despite physical distance. Even when they don't see you, children need to know that you are still there and that you will always be with them.
