How to have the best Sunday in Los Angeles, according to Meredith Hagner

About five years ago, when Meredith Hagner (whose characters go from clueless to peanuts in “Search Party”, “Vacation Friends” and “Bad Monkey”, to name only a few) totally committed to renouncing their Williamsburg apartment controlled by the Rent Brooklyn, New York, to make a home on the west coast, thought he knew exactly where he wanted to live.

“I told my husband [actor Wyatt Russell, son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn] I would try angels, but I will only do the east side because that is the closest to [where I lived in New York City]. And he said: “When we have children, you probably want to move to the west side.” And I was like, 'no, no, no' “.

On Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles give us a play per game of their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration about where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on weekends.

Now, as a mother who lives in the west of 11 months and 3½ children, it is sold. “I can't believe he thought he was taking one for the team when moving to the west side,” he said. “It's great here, and we're only two minutes away from [Wyatt’s] family.”

Before deepening his ideal Sunday itinerary (and western centered), I asked which of the characters he has played could have a Los Angeles weekend to rival his. He immediately pointed out his last role as Neve, Sister of Margot by Reese Witherspoon in the Nicholas Stoller film (also starring Will Ferrell) “You are cordially invited”, which began transmitting on January 30 in Prime Video.

“Oh God. I have played so many tragic and messy people, “said Hagner.”[Neve] He is the first mentally stable person that I think I have played. I would be taking this type of strange performance options, and our director, Nick Stoller, would be like, 'No, she is really a person together'. So I think I would probably have the most charming Sunday. She has a wonderful relationship, and would probably do something elegant and incredible. And I would probably like to have her on Sunday. “

7:30 am: Quaff coffee Canada
On my perfect day, my baby very, very small and my little child would sleep until the wonderful hour of 7:30 am, they like to wake up very early, but in my hypothetical day, my husband and I got up before them, which, Literally it has never happened, but let's go with that, and we drink coffee. We are very obsessed with our morning coffee. It is from a cafeteria that we love so much that we found when we were working in Calgary, Canada. Is called Monogram [Coffee]. We are Esnobs of coffee, so we have the beans sent and we have a small breville espresso coffee machine. And Wyatt makes my coffee in the morning. Then I open all the doors and windows and put a record and we have some quiet coffee. Then the children get up.

9 AM: Take some iron cakes
We used to go to Patrick Roadhouse For breakfast, but unfortunately, it is closed, which is devastating because it has always been a basic element. Then we would go to anyone Salt's Cure breakfast For pancakes, which is one of my favorite places, or Blueberry In Santa Monica. In Salt's Cure, I get the OG iron cakes. They are my favorite thing around the world, and they are ridiculously good. Which with one side of sausage is the universal order.

10:30 am: Find some flowers, it crosses some melodies
I love making floral arrangements, so I will go to [a local] Flower seller and get a ton of flowers. And then I'm going home and I put them all, and then I really get music at full volume while my son helps me [arrange them]. I listen to many Gillian Welch, and I love Mazzy's star, I can't play enough Mazzy star. And I always have the doors open. We will do this for about an hour or so while the baby takes a nap.

1 PM: Make a meal, play with the boys
I like to make some kind of large food, like a long cooking roast, recently I made stoofted ribs, or I will make this delicious Thai coconut meatball soup. I will do something like that, and when I have finished, I will put it in the refrigerator. And we will eat it later or the next day. Then we will all go out and play, maybe we will bring some tennis rackets, just hang out. And I will have a little [outdoors] moment with the boys.

3 PM: Drink at sunset
In my hypothetical Sunday, my in -laws approach Babysit, and they will be children while we prepare. Then my husband and I will put some white wine in our yeti [wine tumblers] And return to the beach. A couple of blocks from our house, there is an underground step underneath [Pacific Coast Highway] Where you can go to the beach. Then we will sit on the beach and see the sunset and have a small cocktail.

5 PM: Wandering to dinner
Then we would awkwardly our Yetis somewhere and we would go to dinner at anyone Muse either The golden bull. Muse is one of the best meals I have had. They have just opened, and it's like this little jeweler [of a] Restaurant where everything you eat is the best you have had in your life. The lamb shelf is crazy. And the Bull Golden is one of those basic neighborhood restaurants. There is a fire in the winter, so it is the best cozy place. If you go there, you have to sit at the bar and get the rib and Yorkshire Buddine and a mezcal margarita. I strongly recommend [it].

7 PM: Gather the family around the fire
We would be at home in time to sleep [for the kids] And I have family time hanging out with my in -laws, which is generally what we do a Sunday night. The guys will put the children to bed, and then we will pass the time in front of the fire.

9:30 PM: Take a small TV before the lights off
I'm never going to bed after 9:30 unless I really want to feel like a dog [crap] the next day. In my hypothetical, I would not fall asleep in two minutes, which I think I have done every time I have tried to see something during the last two years. Last night, we begin to see this new documentary about the Stanford prison experiment [“The Stanford Prison Experiment: Unlocking the Truth”] That a friend of ours, Juliette Eisner, directed, and was so good and spooky. We are also looking [the Netflix series] “Nobody wants this,” which I really like. A thanks to my friend Justine Lupe, who plays the sister. She is so good and it is fun to see your friends.
