How to have the best Sunday in Los Angeles, according to Manny Jacinto

Among the pack of applicants to actors who move to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams of Hollywood, Manny Jacinto surely would establish modest expectations for himself.

“In my head, I was coming here several times,” says Jacinto, who grew up in Richmond, Canada. “I was going to try a pilot [season] Once, it fails, it returns next year, it fails again, and I was going to repeat that pattern for probably for the next five years until hopefully, the crossed fingers, I terrric something. ”

On Sunday Funday, the people of Los Angeles give us a play per game of their ideal Sunday in the city. Find ideas and inspiration about where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on weekends.

But only a few months after moving to Los Angeles in 2016, he caught a leading role in “The Good Place” by NBC, along with Ted Danson and Kristen Bell, and “I just changed my life,” says Jacinto, who played Jason Mendoza.

Since that rupture, Jacinto has accumulated several more action credits, including “Nine Perfect Strangers”, “Top Gun: Maverick” and “The Acolyte”. His last film, “Freakier Friday”, the sequel to the successful 2003 film, reaches cinemas today.

“Little Manny, who was waking up a Sunday [and] Seeing cartoons, I would never have thought I would be acting in front of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, “says Jacinto, who plays Eric Reyes, the British fiance of Lohan in the film.

We met Jacinto to talk about his perfect day in Los Angeles, who would spend with his wife and best friend, Dianne Doan. On the agenda there is an intense morning training, dinner with loved ones in a Filipino restaurant that reminds him of home and enjoy Boba in the park.

This interview has been slightly edited by length and clarity.

9 am: wake up and meditate
Ideally, I would get up at 9 am to sleep enough, but I would also do some things for the day. I will try to meditate for 10 minutes using the quiet application or simply alone. Usually, not as until 11 in the morning, but if I need something in the stomach, I will make a shake. It could be as basic as protein dust, collagen and vegetable powder or can be as elaborate as all berries, hemp seeds, beet dust and spinach.

11 am: a sweat works
I will try to see some type of training class to act my body. I've been going to this place in Glassell Park called Fitness Ganbatte And it is a good community of people. It is also owned by Asian and the butt kicks me. It is probably the hardest training I have done in my life, not even in Los Angeles, as in the world. Or I will hit a hot yoga class. Nucleus power It is always an option. I will do the Hot Power Yoga class and I will sweat.

1 PM: Find the best Los Angeles sandwich
Then I would have my first right meal. For some reason, I have been looking for Los Angeles in search of the best places of sandwich. I have met some. One of them is Mom. It is a place of Italian sandwich in West Hollywood. The last sandwich I had is the Viale di Parma, which has fig jam. It is really good. There are also Bodegas Park [near] Silver Lake Its spicy chicken César is solid. Then there is a place in Frogtown called Wax paper And it is basically in a shipping container in a corner of the street. They have really solid sandwiches.

3 pm: Drink to Boba in the park
We could do a retail therapy. There is this store in Silver Lake I called Anonymous. They have a lot of Japanese clothes, only many unique and quality pieces that are not really seen. If I am not doing that, I will get the time in a park. Our dog, Henry, died in November. He, Dianne and I used to have bubble tea and hang out in Lace park. That would be our afternoon relaxation time. We have not been in that park in part in part because we would really go for Henry. It was difficult to overcome, but we will definitely return. We would get Boba from Bopomofo Cafe And I always get strawberry corn milk. Some people think it is rare due to corn, but reminds me of a Philippine or Vietnamese dessert.

7 PM: A meal that 'reminds me a little home'
It seems that I am constantly eating, but I love an early dinner, so we had dinner with friends after the park. I really love this place called Lasita In Chinatown. They are really good people, there are great vibrations and food is always in point. Because I am a Filipino and it is a Filipino restaurant, it only reminds me of a little home. They are always changing the menu, but the piglet of the pork bacon is an option. Or that or we would go to one of my other favorite restaurants, which is Butler in the district of the arts.

9 PM: Down with 'Mario Kart'
I have 50 years of heart, so I'm ready to pack it. I love an early dinner and I love to finish my night with “Mario Kart”. It is something random that I started to collect during the pandemic. It is something like my wind. They recently launched the [Nintendo] Change 2 and is wild because I have been seeing all these articles saying that “Mario Kart” is the most stressful game to play. Increase your heart rate by 50% or something, but it is very relaxing for me just distinguishing things by a little. Usually, play with Dianne or a group of friends online or people around the world online.

11 pm: Shut yourself a littleeye
Then we got into our night routine. I will shower, I will clean, moisturize and all that. I will also do 10 minutes of red light therapy and maybe I will meditate for a few minutes to calm myself, then I will bed.
