Hainan Airlines resumes Shenzhen-Vienna service – Business Traveler

On May 29, Hainan Airlines resumed its twice-weekly route between Shenzhen and Vienna.

The service will operate every Wednesday and Saturday, leaving Shenzhen at 02:05 and arriving in the Austrian capital at 07:55.

Return flights from Vienna take off at 11:00 and land back in Shenzhen at 04:00 the next morning.

Hainan Airlines is operating one of its two-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to Vienna, offering up to 294 seats in business and economy cabins.

The resumption of flights between Shenzhen and Vienna is testimony to the “resurgence of tourism and trade ties between China and Austria,” the airline said.

Hainan Airlines last served Shenzhen-Vienna in February 2020.

“Welcome back, Hainan Airlines! We are delighted that one of the largest Chinese airlines has once again operated direct flights between Vienna and Shenzhen.

China is an important market for Vienna Airport and for the entire business and tourism territory of Austria. Hainan Airlines' dense route network in and out of China now once again offers numerous travel options to and from Vienna.

The resumption of the connection with Shenzhen, a city with almost twice the population of Austria, strengthens our position as an international hub,” said Julian Jäger, General Manager and Joint Chief Operating Officer of Vienna Airport.
