Taiwanese Star Alliance member EVA Air has signed a firm order with Boeing for four additional Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft, the largest variant of the 787 Dreamliner.
The order has a list price of $1.9 billion, as reported by EVA Air.
EVA Air currently has 11 787-10s in its operational fleet, plus one more on order from a previous order for a future total fleet of 16 787-10s.
The airline also has four smaller 787-9s in its current operating fleet, plus nine more on order from Boeing.
Currently, EVA Air predominantly operates the 787-10 on its services between Taipei and Japan.
Currently, Taoyuan-Narita sees the 787-10 deployed three times a day, as does Taoyuan-Kansai (Osaka).
EVA Air also deploys the aircraft twice daily between Taipei Songshan and Tokyo Haneda, as well as on select services between Taiwan and Hong Kong.
EVA Air's 787-10s currently feature a two-class layout with 34 1-2-1 seats in business class and 308 seats in 3-3-3 economy class.
In the future, current 787-10s will be upgraded to feature a premium economy cabin and all new deliveries will have this product installed from the factory.
In other EVA Air news, the airline recently resumed its Kaohsiung-Hong Kong route, operated daily with A321 regional aircraft but expected to increase to double daily later this month.
