Ennismore has announced plans to debut the SO/ brand in Hungary in 2026, with a property in Budapest.
SO/ Budapest will be a conversion of the current Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge hotel, located on Pest Bank, in the city center.
In fact, the SO/ brand was previously known as So Sofitel, but now belongs to Ennismore's lifestyle division following the merger between Accor and Ennismore in 2020.
The hotel will open after extensive remodeling of both the exterior and interior of the existing building.
SO/ Budapest will include 350 rooms, including 56 suites and two presidential suites, with décor inspired by “the world of fashion and luxury concept stores.” Features will include backlit vanities, open-style closets, dressing room mirrors and reflective surfaces.
SO/ Budapest will also feature four food and drink venues, including a ground-floor restaurant with terrace and café run by Ennismore's in-house studio, Carte Blanched; a lobby cafe on the first floor; and a rooftop restaurant and club.
The property will also include more than 740 m2 of meeting and event space, as well as 855 m2 of spa facilities, with a pool and wellness space.
