Adelaide Airport welcomed Emirates' announcement on 6 February, confirming that the UAE airline will resume daily services to Dubai from 28 October this year.
The route will be served by an Emirates Boeing 777-200LR that will offer passengers business and economy class cabins.
Emirates EK440 will arrive in Adelaide at 20:50 and Emirates flight EK441 will depart Adelaide at 22:35. Arrival and departure times in Dubai are timed to maximize connections to the Emirates flight bank and minimize connection times for subsequent flights to connecting city pairs.
Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said the return of Emirates was essential to the airport's comprehensive aviation network designed to increase inter-city connections, generate travel demand and grow the state's economy.
“Our customers will once again benefit from Emirates’ extensive global network through Dubai. “Offer greater competition and choice for customers, including through Emirates codeshare and frequent flying joint venture agreement with Qantas, connecting across the Middle East to Europe, Africa and even the US East Coast,” Cox said.
He added that Adelaide Airport is busy looking for additional airlines to service the city.
“Adelaide Airport is focused on unlocking the State's potential and is working to support our current operators, win back our customers in mainland China and Hong Kong and open new direct access to our large unserved markets such as Japan and the United States. “.
