Emirates to launch flights to Madagascar – Business Traveler

Emirates will launch flights to Madagascar from September 3, 2024.

The four-weekly flights between Dubai (DXB) and Antananarivo (TNR) will operate via Seychelles, an existing Emirates destination.

The EK707 will depart Dubai for Seychelles at 08:55, arriving in Mahé at 13:35 and continuing to Antananarivo to land at 16:50.

The return flight EK708 departs Antananarivo at 18:35 and lands in Mahe at 22:20. The flight then takes off from Mahe at 11:50 p.m. bound for Dubai and lands at 4:20 a.m. the next day.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

This will be a fifth freedom service, meaning passengers will be able to purchase tickets exclusively between Mahé and Antananarivo.

Emirates says tourism is a key pillar in Madagascar's economy, contributing to the creation of thousands of employment opportunities that support the country's goal of serving one million tourists by 2028.

Emirates is also in talks with Air Madagascar to offer greater connectivity to promote tourism and trade.

The Dubai-Antananarivo route will be served by Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with eight first class suites, 42 business class seats and 310 economy class seats.

“Madagascar has historically been underserved, despite travelers' growing appetite for authentic ecotourism experiences. “We are confident that this new service will have a positive impact on driving Madagascar’s connectivity, offering more opportunities for travelers to discover the hidden gem that is Madagascar, as well as opening up new international business opportunities,” said Vice President and Director airline commercial. , Adnan Kazim.
