Dublin Airport introduces mobile passport control service for US pre-clearance – Business Traveler

Customers traveling from Dublin Airport to the US can now use a new app to submit the required information, instead of completing a paper form.

The Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app is available for download from the Apple App and Google Play stores, and allows passengers to submit their travel document, photo and customs declaration information before presenting themselves at the airport pre-clearance facilities. .

Tips on the US Customs and Border Protection website state:

“Using MPC streamlines the traveler's entry process into the United States by reducing passport control inspection time and overall wait time. Use of MPC does not require prior approval.

“Travellers who successfully use the MPC app will no longer have to complete a paper form and can be provided with a designated queue. As a result, travelers can experience shorter wait times, less congestion and efficient processing.”

There are currently just 15 pre-clearance locations in six countries around the world, including Dublin and Shannon airports, with Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport joining the list in 2025.

Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport will get a pre-clearance facility in the US.

Commenting on the news, Graeme McQueen, media relations manager at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, said:

“The launch of Mobile Passport Control at our pre-clearance facility at Dublin Airport Terminal 2 is great news for the more than one million passengers who use it each year.

“The app means passengers can easily upload their documents before arriving at the airport, which should mean faster processing times, fewer queues and more time to relax at the airport before their flight to the United States. “We are sure passengers will love it.”
