On March 7, China Southern Airlines made its inaugural flight Beijing Daxing – Singapore.
The new service will initially operate three times a week, using narrow-body Airbus aircraft on six-hour flights, with lie-flat seats in business class.
From Daxing, China Southern flights depart every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 02:30 and arrive in Singapore at 09:00. They return at 10:25 a.m. to arrive in the Chinese capital at 4:30 p.m.
The Chinese state airline competes with its compatriot China Eastern Airlines on the Singapore-Daxing (PKX) route, although China Eastern operates with a higher frequency and with Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured for long distances.
Star Alliance airlines Air China and Singapore Airlines offer multiple daily flights between Changi and Beijing's former capital airport (PEK).
China Southern has been flying to Singapore Changi Airport since 1994.
It currently operates routes from Singapore to three cities in China: Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Separately, starting in April, China Southern also plans to operate a daily Beijing Daxing-Dhaka narrow-body Airbus service and a twice-weekly Daxing-Tehran A330-300 service.
China Southern currently has more than 660 aircraft in service. The airline is no longer a member of SkyTeam.
