The Brunei Ministry of Defense has signed an agreement with Airbus for the acquisition of six H145M helicopters.
The H145Ms, which replace its aging BO105 fleet, will be used to enhance the air force's operational capabilities for missions including close air support and aerial observation.
Powered by two Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines, the H145M is equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC) as well as the Helionix digital avionics suite which, along with innovative flight data management, includes a 4 high-performance axles that considerably reduce the pilot's flight time. Its particularly low acoustic footprint makes the H145M one of the quietest helicopters in its class.
“We are very honored by the selection of the H145M to support the expanded missions of the Royal Brunei Air Force,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “The H145M is well-regarded for its high performance and versatility, and we are confident that it will be a step-change in operational readiness for Brunei.”
The global fleet of the H145 family has accumulated more than seven million flight hours to date. It is used by armed, air and police forces around the world for the most demanding missions.
Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Serbia and Thailand have also ordered the H145M.
