British Airways has announced plans to resume flights between Heathrow and Jeddah later this year.
A four-times-weekly service will launch on November 4, marking the end of a five-year hiatus as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Flights throughout the year will be operated by BA Boeing 787 aircraft, with the following schedules:
- It leaves Heathrow at 20:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrives in Jeddah at 05:30 the next day.
- It leaves Jeddah at 0755 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrives at Heathrow at 1145.
The service will join BA's existing daily flights between Heathrow and Riyadh.
The airline will compete with SAUDI on the Heathrow-Jeddah route; Saudi Arabia's flag carrier also operates flights from Jeddah to Manchester, and launched routes to Birmingham and Gatwick last year.

BA announced the resumption of the route at this week's GREAT FUTURES exhibition in Riyadh, which is described as “a flagship event to drive business engagement between the UK and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.
Speaking at the event, Colm Lacy, Chief Commercial Officer of British Airways, said:
“We have a long history of connecting families, friends and businesses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with our home in London. “There are significant opportunities for businesses in both countries, so we are pleased to be able to rebuild our connectivity and strengthen ties between the two kingdoms.”
The news follows the relaunch of BA's route between Heathrow and Abu Dhabi last month.
