The extravagance of Puppetry All-Things, which is Bob Baker's annual day in the Historic Park of the Angeles state of Chinatown, has landed on his songs and the great leading marshal in the parade for its 2025 edition, scheduled for April 13. The animated characters Sponbob Squarepants and Patrick Star will launch the festivities in the 10 am with a place that will run.
The stars of “Sponbob Squarepants” are not the first animated characters to lead the processional. In 2023, Pinocchio from the winning film of the Oscar by Guillermo del Toro led the walk. SpongeBob will join Logan Hone and his Feel Good Music Train, the large -scale puppets of Earth of the Sun and the Chinese dragon of East Wind Foundation and the traditional percussion band. Last year's great marshal was the puppet master Sid Krofft, half of Sid & Marty Krofft Pictures.
The day, presented by the Bob Baker Marionette Theater of Highland Park, will end with a final performance by David Arquette as Bozo The Clown, the presenter of long-term and beautiful children who jumped to fame in the 1950s and was a basic element for decades in the WNG-TV of Chicago. Other artists include the heart of Eisner Intergenerational Big Band of Los Angeles, Pacific Opera Project, Maylee Todd, Center Arts, Water Metropolitan District, Scribble, Johnny Kosmo, Freak Nature Puppets, Cultural Cultural Center and Sage Skirball against the Machine.
Arts and Crafts are a central piece of the annual event, and that will not be different this year, with emphasis on healing through the arts following the recent forest fires of Los Angeles. This year's event will be what Bob Baker Day is calling “recovery through the arts.” An area called “Horay La Village” will organize a variety of local institutions, non -profit organizations and artistic and cultural organizations, with an approach to free artistic activities, youth mental health services and stories narration programs.
826la, which focuses on extracurricular and tutoring programs, will direct a book project, while Craft Contemporary will help guests create their own puppet. The Getty Museum will organize a workshop of masks and Corita Art Center will be available for programs focused on processing pain.
“In the days after the devastating fires that impacted so many in our city, we ask ourselves:” What can we do to help? “Immediately, we realized that our role was to do what we do best: provide a break, moments of joy and creativity for a difficult time.
The Bob Baker Marionette theater expects about 25,000 guests to attend this year's event.
Bob Baker Day began in 2015 as a commemoration of the founder of the Baker company, who died the previous year. The event of the whole day serves as a way to celebrate both Baker's birthday and his legacy. Bob Baker's day is free and is scheduled to run from 10 am to 5 pm
