The airline will launch its new service to Boston on July 1. a route that was originally scheduled to begin in 2020 – and this route will now also be extended into the winter season.
Additionally, Austrian will launch a new route from Vienna to Ivalo in Finnish Lapland this winter, operating weekly on Saturdays between January and March 2025.
Commenting on the news, CCO Michael Trestl said:
“Our goal is to continually expand our route network to be able to offer our guests a wide portfolio of destinations. We have successfully achieved this in the winter flight schedule with the addition of Ivalo and the continuation of the new summer destinations in winter.
“On long-haul routes, it was important for us to initially operate out of Boston in the winter and offer more flights to destinations popular with our guests. “This approach aims to return to pre-crisis levels in intercontinental services and provide attractive connections around the world.”
