Amex Temporarily Increases Cash Back on Dining to 20 Percent for Gold Cardholders – Business Traveler

American Express has launched a new promotion for its Gold credit card holders.

The normal 10 percent rebate at participating restaurants has been increased to 20 percent for three months between February 19 and May 19, 2024.

The offer is valid at over 1,000 locations across the UK, with no limit on the amount of cashback that can be earned per visit, and no limit on the number of times cardholders can use the offer overall or per restaurant.

Notable chains participating in the Amex cashback offer include GBK, Carluccio's, Honest Burgers, Gordon Ramsay, Sticks'N'Sushi, Soho Coffee Co, Hawksmoor and Gaucho.

To redeem the offer, cardholders must save it to their card through the Amex app or at americanexpress.com.

Please note that holders of other American Express cards that offer cash back on dining (the Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card, Platinum Cashback Credit Card, Platinum Card, Centurion Card and select commercial cards) will still receive cash back 10 percent during the promotional period.

In October, Amex announced plans to increase the annual fee for its Gold credit card. (charged after first year) at £195.

Eligible customers can currently earn 20,000 Rewards points by applying for the Gold Card and spending £3,000 in the first three months of being a card member.
