Akasa Air improves its pet travel service

Akasa Air has improved its pet travel service, Pets on Akasa, by increasing the cabin weight limit for pets from 7kg to 10kg (including container) based on customer feedback. Additionally, the validity of pet travel certificates has been extended from three days to 15 days, offering more flexibility for short-term travelers. Since the launch of Pets on Akasa in November 2022, the airline has successfully transported more than 3,200 pets, highlighting its commitment to improving the customer experience.

As part of the improvements, Akasa Air is offering complementary value-added services for those traveling with pets, including pre-booked window seats, priority baggage drop-off and priority boarding. The airline has invested in extensive research and training in its customer service, airport and in-flight teams to ensure the highest standards of care and safety. In partnership with Umeed for Animals Foundation, Akasa Air continually works to improve pet comfort and safety through best practices and policies.

Akasa Air, which was launched in August 2022, has served over 8 million passengers and connects 22 cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Doha. The airline offers a comfortable flight experience with ample legroom, in-seat USB charging ports and a varied in-flight food service, Café Akasa. Additionally, Akasa Air promotes inclusion with Braille safety instructions and menu cards for visually impaired passengers, and offers customizable travel packages through Akasa Holidays.
