Auckland-based Air New Zealand has expanded its non-stop services in Bali to cover the southern hemisphere summer months for the first time.
To celebrate the introduction of year-round flights, Air New Zealand is offering special sales fares to Bali.
Flights to Denpasar will operate three times a week and currently use the airline's leased Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, including a lie-flat business class cabin.
These are currently Cathay Pacific's three-class 777s that Air New Zealand is leasing for several years amid 787-9 Dreamliner checks and delays. They have 40 seats in business class, 32 seats in premium economy class and 296 seats in economy class.
Leanne Geraghty, Air New Zealand's director of sales and customers, says the decision to offer year-round flight options to customers is a testament to Bali's popularity as a holiday location.
“Bali has become an increasingly popular destination for New Zealand tourists. With something to offer every type of traveler – from culture to incredible food, surfing, relaxation and adventure – expanding our services in Bali made sense.”
“As the only airline to offer a direct connection between Aotearoa and Bali, New Zealanders holidaying in Bali during the summer months no longer need to fly with a stopover,” Geraghty added.
Following the pandemic, Star Alliance member Air New Zealand initially relaunched Auckland-Denpasar as a seasonal service in March 2023.
