Here is a quick update on the interruptions reported in the Down detector: Zelle has more than 800 interruptions informed from 2:51 pm et, an increase from the moment we started our blog live.
Banks like Bank of America, Ally and Old National Bank are still seeing peaks. FISVER, which probably has many fewer consumers users, is currently in 91 interruptions reported from 2:53 pm et.
We are waiting for FISVER to comment on the subject, and we will update it when we receive an answer. Meanwhile, here is a look at what some affected users share on social networks.
It is worth noting that Zelle, while responding when comments are asked, does not have a service status page.
@Navyfederal needs to send alerts that indicate when something is inactive! I get my money in limbo because their Zelle services are experiencing an interruption and no one can explain anything else 😑May 2, 2025

Interestingly, it does not seem that all the institutions that work with Zelle are having problems. I was able to send money through Zelle through Chase this morning, and only a few minutes ago.
However, through the Down detector, some other financial institutions seem to be seeing the worst part of this failed payment of Zelle or the pending flag.
In addition, in X (previously Twitter), Matt Egan de CNN points out that the problems that affect Zelle are linked to FISVer, which is also experiencing an interruption according to the Down detector. The platform also shows that Ally and Old National Bank are having problems.
Zelle confirms to @CNN that the users of some banks cannot use the payment platform. Zelle said the problem is linked to a third party: interruption reports of the third -party detector departure on Friday morning and remains elevated. pic.twitter.com/diimnb45eaMay 2, 2025
Zelle has confirmed the ongoing interruption. This is what a spokesman shared with us:
“We are aware that certain Zelle® users in some financial institutions cannot use Zelle at this time. This situation involves an independent third party that provides services to particular financial institutions. We are working diligently with our partners to solve this matter as soon as we can. Zelle users can see the transactions marked as” payments “at the average time. We will share updates such as more information available.”
It is clear that Zelle is aware of the problem and points out that it is worth working with several partners to solve it. As with most interruptions, there is no exact frame. And if you can use Zelle at this time through a bank, but it doesn't work as expected, you may see “pending payment.”
It is clear that Zelle is having a difficult day, here is a look at the interruptions reported so far in the Down detector.
