While it's not International Yoga Day (after all, it only falls once a year, on June 21, 2024), today, August 25, 2024, is a day that Apple Watch workout enthusiasts should look forward to.
Why? You can win a limited-edition prize for completing a workout, and all types are eligible as long as it’s 20 minutes. The occasion is to celebrate natural parks at home or visit one in the United States. It could be for a relaxing meditation or yoga workout on a hill, a hike, or even a kayak ride. Similarly, it could be a HIIT workout at home.
As Apple celebrates the 108th anniversary of America’s National Parks and is a long-time partner, anyone wearing an Apple Watch around the world can complete a 20-minute workout today to earn the limited-edition prize. Plus, you’ll unlock exclusive iMessage stickers celebrating the parks.
The included stickers are so much fun, and include someone paddling a kayak through the water, an adorable bee pollinating some flowers, and even an animated version of the limited-edition prize. To get it, all you have to do is complete a workout of at least 20 minutes today, August 25, 2024.
To do this, on your Apple Watch, open the Workouts app—you can press the Digital Crown to find it, press the action button on an Apple Watch Ultra if you've set it up, or even ask Siri to open Workouts. You can select from the long list of workout types from there, and you'll be ready to go.
Once you finish the workout, along with your stats (think heart rate and calories burned), you'll see the award with a fun animation. It's that simple, and the sticker set will also be unlocked for use.
In addition to this exercise reward, every purchase made on Apple.com in the US or at an Apple Store in the US using Apple Pay before the end of the day on August 25, 2024, will result in a $10 donation from Apple to the National Park Foundation. Additionally, as part of iOS 18 and watchOS 10 this fall (i.e., September through November 2024), Apple Maps will add expanded hiking trail detail to US national parks.
If you're already running the iOS 18 public beta, you can try it out now and read all about a secret feature here.
