Xbox has confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne and will bring what it claims is its “largest booth yet.”
The official Xbox account on X / Twitter published about the publisher's return to Gamescom from August 21-25, along with a list of upcoming games and games available to play now. Xbox claims there is more to come, but the current list posted by the official account is as follows:
- Age of Mythology: Retold
- Declared
- Ara: Untold story
- Diablo 4: Vessel of Hate
- immortal devil
- The Elder Scrolls online
- Fall 76
- Torreborne
- World of Warcraft: The War Within

It's not yet known which of the above games will be playable or strictly hands-off, but most are close enough for release and, in the case of Torreborne – had playable versions available at last year's Gamescom event. As such, it's easy to imagine that most things here can be reproduced.
Despite the impressive performance, we don't expect to see upcoming anticipated games like Fable either perfect darkness at this year's event. Neither have concrete release dates (aside from the former's vague '2025' as revealed in its latest trailer).
Xbox will be the only one of the big three console manufacturers attending this year's Gamescom. Sony has reportedly confirmed that it will not be at the event for the sixth time in a row. Similarly, Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that it will skip Gamescom this year “after careful consideration.”
Nintendo would have a lot to show at Gamescom 2024 given the big Nintendo Direct a few days ago, but we hope it is full steam ahead in preparing its next console, tentatively called Nintendo Switch 2, before being announced as Big events like Gamescom again.
