The Nothing Phone 2 made its debut in July 2023 and it looks like Nothing's next phone is almost here, although this time it will apparently be more of a mid-range device than a flagship device.
As discovered by MySmartPrice, the Nothing Phone 2a has now appeared on the TÜV certification regulatory website, indicating that the phone is undergoing the necessary final checks before being unveiled.
TUV, for those wondering, is Technischer Überwachungsverein in German, or Technical Inspection Association. It is an internationally recognized standard to certify that electronic devices are safe and suitable for release.
While the presentation doesn't tell us much about the Nothing Phone 2a, it does reveal that the device will come with 45W fast charging support. As you'll see in our Nothing Phone 2 review, that phone supports the same charging speed.
What to expect
Considering the Nothing Phone 2 sells for $599 / £579 / AU$1,049, you could even say the phone is mid-range, meaning the Nothing Phone 2a could end up ranking as one of the best phones economical when it is finally manufactured. an apparition.
Suggestions that a Nothing Phone 2a could be in the offing have been circulating since December, and the leaks we've seen up to this point suggest that a price cut in the region of 40% of the Nothing Phone 2's cost is planned.
We also hear that a 6- to 7-inch display, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage will be available, and that the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor. A dual camera is also planned on the rear.
Of course, Google has used a similar naming scheme for its own mid-range Pixel offerings, most recently with the Google Pixel 7a. We think a Google Pixel 8a is on the way, although it's unlikely to arrive before the middle of this year.
