- GREEN: OUTLINE SCAM, HUSTLE, SCAM, STING

I made a mistake here, but on reflection, this isn't so bad as far as Connections puzzles go. My mistake was around what I thought were single-name musicians: STING, USHER, PRINCE, SEAL. However, all four actually belonged to different groups, so this was a (probably deliberate) misdirection on the part of the NYT.
I finally solved the four groups in order of difficulty, with DIRECT, GUIDE, LEADER and USHER being the first answer I got, followed by the green 'OUTLINE' connection. With the two most difficult groups remaining, I focused on the US DOLLAR BILL angle, because I could see three of them: EAGLE, WASHINGTON, and PYRAMID. However, a fourth didn't occur to me until I stopped thinking so logically and realized that SEAL wasn't referring to the cute mammal. Oh!

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually quite difficult, and purple is usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you don't technically need to solve the final question since you'll be able to answer it through a process of elimination. What's more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
It is, however, a bit more complicated than something like Wordle and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to trip you up with tricks. For example, beware of homophones and other wordplay that could disguise the answers.
It can be played for free via the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile devices.
