For most of the time we've heard rumors about the existence of a Samsung Galaxy Watch FE, it was thought that it would launch at the upcoming Samsung Unpacked (which is believed to happen on July 10), but now it looks like it's going to happen. show up before that.
According to a well-known informant @MysteryLupinThe Galaxy Watch FE will launch on Monday, June 24. That fits with reports from a few days ago that suggested the watch would be part of a promotional offer from Samsung sometime this month.
Perhaps it's no surprise that Samsung wants to launch one of its next devices separately from Unpacked: the July event is expected to feature the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Add in a full reveal of the Samsung Galaxy Ring, as well as unveilings of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, and there won't be much time left to talk about anything else.
What we think we know so far
If rumors to date are to be believed, the Galaxy Watch FE will be a more affordable alternative to the Galaxy Watch 7 (using the same Fan Edition brand as Samsung phones). A price of €199 to €219 has been mentioned.
That would put the new watch slightly above the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 in terms of price. This watch, which was originally released in 2021, is still on sale for $199 / £199 / AU$399, and the Galaxy Watch FE is supposedly based on it.
The leaked specs match the Galaxy Watch 4 very closely, although it looks like the new model's screen could be a little smaller: 1.2 inches in diameter instead of 1.4 inches.
It looks like we don't have to wait long to find out for sure, and whenever the smartwatch appears, we'll bring you the news right away. We'll also cover the next big Samsung Unpacked event, whenever Samsung decides to hold it.
