Asking AI for cooking advice is nothing new. Most ads for services like ChatGPT, Meta AI, Gemini, and others include a user asking for help with meal planning, either by requesting weekly schedules or searching for recipes with ingredients in their refrigerator. But Brisk is taking things up a notch with Vera, an AI that can actually cook for you.
You can also ask Vera for general recipe advice. According to Brisk It, you can respond to prompts like “I'm allergic to bell peppers; make me a plate of spicy chicken wings” and “What can I make with leftover ground beef, cilantro, nachos, shrimp, and gouda cheese?” using her large recipe database.
But what will really stand out is its cooking ability, as it can respond to prompts like “Cook me a rib steak medium rare” and “Smoke a rib roast and a whole chicken at the same time for 15 people.” ” by adjusting your grill's temperature settings and calling for ingredients.
Before you get too excited, it won't work with all grills. Specifically, Vera is compatible with Brisk It's Origin 580 and Origin 940 smart grills.
Beyond simply following recipes, Brisk adds that Vera can react in real time to your cooking choices and mistakes. That means she can apparently modify her cooking settings to handle a variety of situations “to ensure the food comes out of the highest quality.” So, let's say she forgets to turn the steak or she forgets to remove an entire plate from the grill.
Obviously it's worth taking some of these bold claims with a pinch of salt.
AI can make mistakes, and we suspect that Vera is not immune to hallucinations, the technical term for when AI makes mistakes or makes up answers. Additionally, while we can't attest to her overall culinary skills without trying Vera firsthand, we suspect the best results will still require a lot of human involvement.
