A series of leaks have indicated that a wide variety of new factions are planned for XChallenging, a free course that Ubisoft launched last month. This includes content inspired by the Assassin's Creed series, Far Cry New Dawnand, perhaps most surprising of all, the rabid franchise.
As discovered by Kotaku, the information comes from X/Twitter user 'Rogue Tx', who claims it was discovered through data mining. They say that the first four factions to come to the game will be the Assassins of Assassin's Creedoperators of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon BreakpointGSG9 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siegeand The Bandits of Far Cry New Dawn.
Ubisoft has previously confirmed that four new factions will be released over the next year. Elsewhere, the user supposedly found references to factions based on The gang and rabid in the game code. While one of the various criminal groups in The gang It could certainly work well given that XChallenging is a gritty first-person shooter (FPS), I'm definitely curious to see how any depiction of the quirky rabbit mascots would fit into the universe.
The leak also points to some new weapons that could be coming to the game. This includes a new sawed-off shotgun, Thompson submachine gun, FAMAS, FAL, Bizon submachine gun, and the G36 rifle. There are also suggestions of two new sniper rifles: the L115 and the LVOA, which are presumably versions of the Accuracy International AWM and LVOA-C AR-15 respectively. Abilities like deployable barbed wire and a remote-controlled car have also allegedly been found, plus a new capture-the-flag game mode.
Images featuring this unreleased content have reportedly received DMCA takedown notices from Ubisoft, which would suggest they are legitimate. Ubisoft has not responded to TechRadar Gaming's request for comment on the leaks at this time.
If you are interested in trying the game for yourself, XChallenging It is currently available to download and play for free on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
