Just days after learning about a potentially huge camera upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the coming months, we came across a new leak that suggests a more modest increase for the foldable phone's camera modules this year.
According to GalaxyClub (via Android Authority), this time the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will continue with a 50MP main rear camera, offering the same megapixel rating as its immediate predecessor; Check out our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 review for more details.
Previously, we had heard that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could come with a 200MP main camera, the same camera as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now it looks like we'll have to lower our expectations a bit.
GalaxyClub says the 50MP main camera is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S24. If that's correct, it will be an upgrade from the Galaxy Z Fold 5's 50MP camera in terms of capturing capabilities, even if the megapixel rating is the same.
To be confirmed
All this confusion around camera specs may indicate that Samsung hasn't made a decision yet on what will be installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. We still have five months before its launch, if it follows the same timeline as the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
GalaxyClub isn't saying the 200MP rumors are completely false, just that it can't confirm them and that a 50MP camera is more likely. There is also a prediction that the other cameras will match what we saw in the 2023 model.
Having little to no camera upgrades on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 would be a disappointment, but perhaps it's a trade-off that many people will be willing to make, if it means the price of the foldable phone doesn't increase. any superior.
Speaking of pricing, Samsung is also rumored to be working on a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which we'd be interested to see. Both phones are expected to see the light of day this year, along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
