Our watch could have ended in House of the Dragon season 2, but there are plenty more exciting shows to stream on Max this year and next.
In a new trailer released on the streaming giant after the House of the Dragon In the Season 2 finale, viewers were treated to a two-minute sneak peek of the most anticipated series coming in the next 12 months. If post-apocalyptic fantasy shows aren't your idea of fun, there are plenty of other great series debuting on Max, aka one of the best streaming services in the world, in the not-too-distant future. Leading the charge is The Penguina spin-off of The Batman Colin Farrell will reprise his role as Oz Cobb from the acclaimed 2022 film in a gritty and brutal neo-noir crime thriller. It will premiere on Max (US) on September 19 and on Sky/Now TV (UK) and Binge (Australia) on September 20.
In fact, audiences in the UK and Australia will not miss any of the aforementioned and upcoming HBO-produced shows. The last of us' second season, A knight of the seven kingdomsAnd virtually all of the other series featured in the new Max trailer will debut on the aforementioned platforms in these nations, so non-US residents will be able to watch them alongside their American counterparts.

When will The Last of Us season 2 be released on Max?
Unfortunately, we still don't know when The last of us will be returning to our screens. Filming is underway on the award-winning TV adaptation of Naughty Dog’s popular video game series, but a new document on the Director’s Guild of Canada website suggests that principal photography will wrap on August 21. If so, and provided there are no post-production issues, I predict we’ll see one of Max’s best shows return sometime in early 2025.
Other big-budget programs, including A knight of the seven kingdoms, The white lotus Season 3, and Welcome to Derry We don't have any official release dates either. According to Max Sizzle's trailer, this trio won't be hitting the streaming platform until 2025 either, so you and I will have to wait a long time to get our fix of high fantasy, comedic melodrama, and supernatural horror.
Still, with series like DCU Chapter One Creature Commandsthe return of his animated brother in Harley Quinna two-part documentary about The sopranos' creation, and what's more, there are plenty of options for TV fans to enjoy between now and the end of 2024. I, for one, will be tuning into as many as I can.
