SteelSeries has announced its first set of wireless gaming headsets and their features really seem to indicate that they could offer a one-stop solution for anyone looking for the best gaming headsets for their setup this year.
On par with Sony's Inzone Buds and the PlayStation Pulse Explore, the Arctis GameBuds pack a ton of premium features into a compelling package.
SteelSeries is promoting this headset bundle as one that's not only great for gaming, but will also fit into your everyday lifestyle, offering something you can use anywhere for music, work, TV, entertainment, and more.
The headline feature is the inclusion of neodymium drivers (6mm) that are tuned to SteelSeries’ signature high quality, providing “intense 360-degree audio,” according to the brand. As a complement, active noise cancellation (ANC) is included, powered by a four-microphone system designed to increase immersion in gaming sessions.
A third audio-focused feature (and one that follows in the footsteps of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 wireless gaming headset) is support for a mobile companion app. This will function much like the Nova 5 app, offering over 100 gaming presets as well as some useful display features and options that can be chosen and changed on the fly. This is done in conjunction with the built-in button, which is more like a laptop keyboard than the touch controls on other headsets.
The GameBuds also share the Arctis line's recent trend for multi-platform compatibility, working across all major platforms, consoles, and devices. However, if you want the maximum compatibility that a headset offers, the Xbox model (like the headsets of late) is the one to go for.
Rounding out the feature set are dual connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 and 2.4Ghz, a claimed battery life of over 40 hours (10 hours per use and three charges stored in the case), wireless charging (which features Qi wireless charging capabilities), and an ergonomic design that was built from over 62,000 ear scans.
The GameBuds arrive at the perfect time to potentially pair with a PS5 Pro, iPhone 16, or new Xbox console, and look to offer a very well-rounded and compelling package that could rival some of the best in the game.
The Arctis GameBuds are available to pre-order today, September 26, from the SteelSeries website (the same day PS5 Pro pre-orders begin) and will hit stores on October 29. The GameBuds will launch at $159.99 / £159.99 / AU$169.99.
