Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming action-adventure game from Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment in which you play as a rogue outlaw trying to make her way through the Star Wars galaxy.
The game takes place between Star Wars: Episode 4 – A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode 5 – The Empire Strikes Back – one of the most dramatic periods in Star Wars history. As Kay, you’ll have to stay one step ahead of the law as you fight to survive on the fringes of civilized space.
Contrary to most of Star Wars fee, Star Wars Outlaws seems to be distancing itself from everyone’s favorite order of lightsaber-wielding space wizards, opting for a grittier story focused on quick thinking and quick shooting. As much as we love Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorThis upcoming game is a breath of fresh air and will likely offer a new perspective on the Star Wars universe. Keep reading to know more.

If you want to be aware of any news Star Wars Outlaws Previews as they appear, it may be worth keeping an eye on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. In addition to future trailers, you’ll also be able to find special behind-the-scenes looks at the game’s development process, as well as the world premiere video, which you can also watch below.
History and setting of Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws takes place between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jediwhich means that the Galactic Empire will play a pretty important role in the narrative.
The story itself takes place in a time when the Empire was hot on the heels of the Rebel Alliance. As the rebellion turns into an all-out war, criminal elements are able to thrive, creating opportunities for scoundrels like Kay Vess, the game’s protagonist. Although details are still unclear, the official tour preview shows secret deals involving Imperial officers and crime bosses amid dramatic shootouts and daring chases.
Instead of playing a kinder Jedi character, you’ll take on the role of an outlaw. Fighting and stealing your way through missions and environments, you’ll have to outwit the many dubious forces you’ll face without relying on space magic.
But Kay is not alone in this effort either. The first trailer introduced us to her loyal companion, Nix, a furry four-legged alien who embodies Star Wars Creature design at its finest. You’ll also experience adventures alongside a trench-coated commando droid named ND-5. We still don’t know much about his robot companion, but his Bounty hunter The aesthetics certainly attract attention.
Star Wars how will it be played?
We received a ten-minute walkthrough in Ubisoft Forward that shed more light on what we can expect from the game. The trailer begins with what looks like a stealth-based scenario, where Kay is seen navigating an opposition-infested location with Nix. We can also see several potential actions that she can use to help achieve her goals, such as using Nix to distract potential threats while she moves.
Shortly after this, we see Kay being spotted, triggering a high-speed chase and intense combat. As we come into contact with some of her pursuers, time appears to slow down, allowing Kay and Nix some time to plan their moves. After a quick firefight, we are taken to the smuggling town of Jaunta’s Hope.
Instead of being rewarded for our work, Jae finds herself threatened by a sinister Imperial officer. When wanted posters begin to appear on screens all over the city, our heroine frantically makes her way to her spaceship and gets out of there. An exciting aerial combat ensues as Kay matches her wits with Imperial fighters. We are then treated to cinematic scenes and dialogue between ND-5 and Kay, and the occasional screech from Nix, after which we jump into hyperspace in a dramatic finale of the scenario.
The control the player is supposed to have during the dogfight section of the trailer suggests they could have full control of Kay’s ship when it comes to space battles and charting courses across the stars. This feeling is especially encouraged by the trailer’s conclusion, in which an inquisitive ND-5 asks “Where do we go now?” and Kay replies, “Wherever we want.”
Frantic gunfights, difficult dialogue options, and the badge Star Wars The style is common in the preview. Although carefully choreographed, the ten-minute trailer shows a wide spectrum of experiences, giving us a solid look at what we can expect from the game once it launches.
