Instead of transferring content directly, two loyalty reward systems are being introduced. 'Legacy Gems', equal to the number of gems (free and paid) players spent in the original game, will be distributed to Hurt 2 players, which can be used with a 50% discount on most in-game purchases. The number of Legacy Gems received will be doubled for players who purchase a Founder's Pack for Hurt 2.
Also, the first update of year 11 in Hurt 1 will introduce 'Divine Legacy', which rewards players for the time they have spent playing Hurt Through the years. Depending on how long they have been playing, players can unlock up to 11 skins to use in Hurt 2and their progress will also earn them badges to use in the sequel.
Speaking further about these reward systems, Cantatore says the team “evolved this plan at least five times,” adding more and more until their player groups commented on how “generous” they were.
“So, we're really hoping that players look at this and say, 'Wow, you guys are really doing something great for players, you care about players,' because we really do; this was really designed with players in mind.” mind,” Cantatore continues. “But we understand that there will probably be some players who will be disappointed because, you know, they want everything to be carried over. But it just wasn't possible for us to achieve this level of evolution of a game and also bring everything from the past.” .
