The Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the The best phones Samsung has ever done. Much of this is down to its incredible camera, which earns it a coveted spot as one of our best android phones. Unfortunately, there is one thing that lets this phone down: its sharp corners. But Samsung could finally be about to address this issue with the rumored Galaxy S25 Ultra, which will likely launch next year.
This all goes back to Samsung’s decision in 2022 to make its Galaxy S22 Ultra a Note-style design with an S Pen built right into it. This has led to everyone’s hands feeling so uncomfortable that it can ruin the entire experience of owning the phone for some people.
All this could be about to change, according to Ice universea reliable and trustworthy leaker of all things Samsung. He has previously documented how using the phone has caused damage to his hand and now he claims that the square corners will be replaced with rounded ones. The tipster goes one step further and claims that the corners will be “actually rounded.” Hands may breathe a figurative sigh of relief.
I can 100% confirm that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will not crush your palm again. It's really rounded! pic.twitter.com/rKf8TmCoAsJune 27, 2024
Rounded corners are already common on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus models, so this won't seem like the biggest design change Samsung has made. Bringing continuity to the three phones in the series will undoubtedly make sense, not only from an ergonomic point of view but also in terms of design ethos.
Long-term users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra may be worried that the rounded corners could mean a drop in S Pen integration, but this is apparently not the case.
However, Samsung's love affair with square corners is apparently not over. If the leaks are true, then Samsung has plans to introduce equally stark square corners on the rumored upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6. Ditching them on one phone and introducing them on another won't make sense for most users, but only time will tell which designs will choose Samsung.
