Samsung's smart ring has finally launched in full, and you can read our hands-on review of the Samsung Galaxy Ring to get an in-depth look at it. But now a small detail has emerged alongside the price: the Galaxy Ring's battery life varies depending on the size you choose.
Galaxy Ring sizes are based on standard US sizes, with nine different options, from size 5 to size 13. However, Samsung says Ring size and color availability will vary by region.
How will you know which size to choose? If you choose the “I don’t know what my size is” option, you’ll have the option to receive a free sizing kit (see further down this page) when you order. Naturally, these Galaxy Rings are just samples and are only meant to help you choose the right one. Samsung says you should use these sizing guides for 24 hours to see which one best fits you.
As rumors predicted, the Galaxy Ring's weight and battery life will vary depending on which size you choose. The two largest sizes (12 and 13) have a different battery cell, meaning they'll last up to seven days on a single charge. All sizes below these have a battery life of “up to six days.”
Row 0 – Cell 0 | Weight | Battery duration |
Size 5 | 2.3 g | Up to six days |
Size 6 | 2.4 g | Up to six days |
Size 7 | 2.4 g | Up to six days |
Size 8 | 2.6 g | Up to six days |
Size 9 | 2.7 g | Up to six days |
Size 10 | 2.8 g | Up to six days |
Size 11 | 3.0 g | Up to six days |
Size 12 | 3.0 g | Up to seven days |
Size 13 | 3.0 g | Up to seven days |
Interestingly, the size of the Galaxy Ring charging case also varies slightly depending on the size of the ring you choose. With the smart ring, you'll receive a charging case and USB cable, and a wireless charger sold separately.

While the Samsung Galaxy Ring is available in standard US sizes, Samsung warns that it may vary in size from traditional, non-smart rings, due to the sensors inside.
The ring can be worn on any finger, but the sensors must be facing upwards, with the indicator on the palm side. The reason Samsung recommends wearing the simulated ring for 24 hours is because finger size can vary depending on the time of day, so you'll want to make sure it's not too tight at night, for example.
Once you've decided on a size, you can choose from three Galaxy Ring colors: black, titanium gold, and titanium silver. They're all made from scratch-resistant titanium, and the design has raised edges to ensure it won't scratch easily.
Naturally, the price doesn't vary depending on which ring size you choose: it's $399/£399 (or around AU$750, Australian prices TBC), which is slightly more than the Oura Ring, although Samsung's ring doesn't require a subscription.
We hope to be able to live with Samsung's smart ring for an extended period, but until then you can read our hands-on review of the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
