An Amazon listing for the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 was recently discovered, revealing key information including design changes, specifications, and certain features. The page has since been taken down, but tech news site SmartPrix managed to save a couple of screenshots.
The earbuds themselves are almost identical to the OnePlus Buds 3, but their stems are made of polished metal and the base has a matte coating. The charging case, however, changes from a square look to a more oval one. It measures 65 x 52 x 26 mm and weighs 61 grams, making it slightly longer and heavier than the Buds 3’s case.

Inside the Buds Pro 3 is a dual-driver setup consisting of a 6mm tweeter alongside an 11mm woofer, each “tuned with its own DAC,” or digital-to-analog converter. DACs are present in almost any device that produces sound, so it’s not a rare technology. If you look at the leaked product description, this “dual DAC” setup allows the earbuds to deliver “rich bass and pristine highs across an expansive soundstage.”
Audio improvements
On the software side, the leak claims that the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 “support the LHDC 5.0 codec,” allowing the devices to output 25-bit/192kHz audio at a bit rate of up to 1000Kbps. Without going into too much detail, this means that users will be able to enjoy their favorite music tracks in High-Resolution Audio.
OnePlus is reportedly improving on several previous features. The upcoming model’s “adaptive noise cancellation” can block up to 50 dB of sound, which is slightly louder than the OnePlus Buds Pro 2’s 49 dB limit. Voice cancellation is said to be “twice as effective” compared to the previous pair.
SmartPrix also mentions that the headphones come with Dynaudio EQs, a feature that was created in collaboration with speaker brand Dynaudio and allows for “precisely tuned audio profiles.”
Notable Features
If the leak is true, the Buds Pro 3's battery life is getting worse, dropping to 43 hours on a single charge. That's still a considerable amount, but it's lower than the Buds 3. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.4 support, multipoint connectivity, and an IP55 water resistance rating to survive water splashes and dust.
Prices for the earbuds aren’t listed on Amazon. However, Max Jambor, an industry insider on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), claims the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 will retail for €199 (roughly $200/£179/AUD330).
The release date for the headphones is unknown, but when they do launch, they should be available in at least two different colors: Lunar Radiance white and Midnight Opus black.
Jambor’s post shows a third grey option, though the colour could simply be a result of the photo’s poor lighting conditions, making the white casing look darker. It’s worth mentioning that previous leaks from July showed a mint green pair.
As always, take this leak with a grain of salt. Things can change in an instant. Make sure to check out TechRadar's roundup of the best headphones for 2024.
