- There is talk that the battery of the next Realme phone could reach 8,000 mAh
- Most consumer phones offer around 4000 mAh or less.
- However, the phone is unlikely to be sold in the US, UK or Australia.
As smartphone owners, we all want longer battery life from our devices, and it looks like Realme could raise the bar for flagship consumer phones with the introduction of a phone with an 8,000 mAh capacity battery.
This is according to veteran tipster Digital Chat Station (via Notebookcheck), and it looks like several different capabilities are being considered for an upcoming phone, possibly the Realme GT 8 Pro due out sometime in 2025.
According to the leak, the phone could have a 7,000 mAh, 7,500 mAh or 8,000 mAh battery. However, there is a trade-off: the higher the capacity, the lower the charging speed and the time it takes for the battery to fully charge.
Apparently no final decision has been made, but if Realme were to opt for the 8,000 mAh option, we would certainly welcome it. It would be a refreshing change to see a phone that didn't have to be charged every night.
Batteries in numbers
An 8,000 mAh battery wouldn't be the largest we've ever seen, because previous phones had batteries up to 22,000 mAh in capacity. However, those phones are very thick and not as practical as everyday smartphones.
If Realme chooses 8000 mAh for the capacity, it would be the largest yet on a consumer phone that doesn't appear to have a power bank attached to it. At the moment, a select number of phones offer around 7,000 mAh.
It would certainly outperform devices like the Apple iPhone 16 (3,561 mAh) and Samsung Galaxy S24 (4,000 mAh), although of course many factors affect battery life, including chipset efficiency, so not all It depends on the battery capacity. .
Unfortunately, Realme doesn't sell its phones in the US, UK or Australia, instead focusing on markets like China and India. Let's hope that changes or that Realme's advanced battery technology reaches other smartphone manufacturers in the industry.
