Ubisoft is testing more changes in rainbow six siege on their Lab Test Server, and not everyone is happy with what awaits them.
Today (January 15), the Lab Test Server opened its doors and until January 22 at 4pm ET / 1pm PT / 9pm GMT (January 23 at 8am AEDT), players will be able to try out some balance changes. There will surely be some excitement over the Ballistic Shield overhaul, which was teased in February 2023. Notably, players can now run with shields and run through barricades.
However, it's not so good news for certain top attackers. For example, the fusion time of Operator Ace's SELMA Aqua Breacher ability has been increased, meaning he can no longer break through walls and doors as quickly as before.
Also hit was the G-36C assault rifle, which now has increased recoil. This is one of the weapons available to attackers Iana and Ash. The damage of SMG-11 (usable by the attacker Amaru, as well as the defenders Smoke, Mute and Solis) has also been reduced. Finally, the recoil of the SPAS-15 has been modified, usable by the Defenders Thunderbird and Caveira.
While not all nerfs have specifically affected attackers, many players believe more should be done to tone down the nerfs. rainbow six siege's Defenders, who are dominating the game right now. One gamer, Twitter/X user @devmartajames, wrote: “A little confused because the latest patch looks to nerf three of the most popular attackers, while the last four defenders added to the game are massively overpowered. I hope we see some [Tubarão]/Fenrir/Solis/Azami will be weakened soon to control the increase in power.”
Others are equally confused: “What about Solis, Azami and Fenrir?” @Ke_a_nu_ disputed.
User @IceColdR6 aggregate: “I think we picked the wrong side to nerf here.”
It's worth keeping in mind that these changes are being implemented in Lab Test Server. This means that players are asked to complete surveys based on their experience with them and modifications could end up being made. Players will just have to stay vigilant for now.
