The answers to today's Quordle, game #884, are…

Once again I felt indebted to my three initial words for today: between them I got the five letters for two of the answers, four for another and three for the third. That was important, because in theory some of these words were quite difficult to identify.

LEVER has repeated Es and an unusual V, plus it is an 'ER' word. The problem is that there are so many that identifying the correct combination of letters in the first three places can be very difficult. SERUM is also complicated, partly because of the unusual ending UM, and partly because it is not a word that many people use very often.
