And so ends another week with another Quordle. We have already reached game number 853; Who would have predicted that when the Wordle craze started a couple of years ago? Today's game is possibly going to be difficult, or at least it seemed difficult to me and I almost lost my streak. Read on for my tips if you need them.

The answers to today's Quordle, game #853, are…

Phew! Today I made two stupid mistakes that almost cost me my Quordle streak. Worse yet, the two mistakes were essentially one mistake repeated in double-quick time.

I'm usually a sensible player: I use set seed words to limit options and play more restrictive words as needed. That's what I should have done today with GUILT; It had green -UIL- plus a yellow T that I could see would fit at the end. Instead of taking two seconds to think about it, I played QUILT…and it was bad. What an idiot, I thought: we have to BUILD… and it was wrong. Obviously the answer was BLAME, and what I should have done was play a word like BEFOG, which would have told me which of the three it was and saved me a guess.

With the BLAME resolved, I now only had three guesses and three answers to find. It was a little tricky at times, but I managed to say the remaining words and escape with a last-gasp victory.
